Youth Empowerment Bootcamp: Activating LGBTQ+ Advocacy

The Youth Empowerment Bootcamp serves as an intensive learning and capacity-building experience designed to equip young participants with essential knowledge and practical tools related to LGBTQ+ rights, equality frameworks, and advocacy strategies. Through interactive workshops, expert-led sessions, and mentoring opportunities, participants will deepen their understanding of the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ communities and explore ways to actively contribute to positive social change. The bootcamp aims to strengthen leadership, build confidence, and inspire young people to become advocates for inclusion and equality within their communities and beyond.

The Youth Unity Picnic is a community-focused event created to celebrate diversity, promote solidarity, and strengthen bonds among young people in an open and welcoming environment. Through informal dialogue, storytelling sessions, cultural exchange, and shared experiences, participants will have the opportunity to connect on a personal level while exploring themes of identity, acceptance, and belonging. This event emphasizes the importance of safe social spaces where young people can feel supported, valued, and empowered to embrace diversity as a source of strength.

The Youth Café Conversations provide an interactive and youth-led platform for open discussions on the realities, challenges, and opportunities surrounding LGBTQ+ rights and social inclusion. In a relaxed and engaging setting, participants will exchange perspectives, share personal experiences, and collectively explore practical solutions to tackle discrimination, prejudice, and exclusion. These conversations encourage critical reflection, active listening, and collaborative thinking, helping young people build a deeper understanding of equality and strengthen their role as active citizens committed to social justice.

The Youth Activism Policy Lab is the international mobility component of GENERATION+, bringing together young people, policymakers, civil society representatives, and experts from different countries to engage in structured dialogue and collaborative policy development. This activity creates a unique opportunity for participants to discuss key issues affecting LGBTQ+ communities at both national and European levels, while co-creating recommendations for more inclusive and effective policies. By connecting youth voices directly with decision-makers, the Policy Lab reinforces the importance of participatory democracy and empowers young people to influence policy processes through informed advocacy and constructive dialogue.

Together, these four activities form the core implementation pillars of GENERATION+, creating a comprehensive framework for youth empowerment, advocacy, dialogue, and social transformation. Through a combination of education, community engagement, and policy participation, the project ensures that young people are not only included in the conversation but actively shaping the future of equality and inclusion across Europe.
